I was thinking about that phrase yesterday, when I couldn't find my cell phone. I feel like I spend 30 minutes every day looking for the damn thing.

And when someone says that, I think "You probably say pacific in lieu of specific, don't you", since the only way that phrase could possibly make sense is if 'would have' were put in there, and folks who say 'pacific' tend to be the type to drop modify key phrases or drop them entirely
