I need to get a project bound. I've heard the Kinko's on Hillsborough can be pretty shitty and do stuff like charge $20 for opening a file.
Anywhere better, or some tips for the Hillsborough place? 4/26/2008 1:13:41 PM |

yeah, last time I needed something bound real quick (a couple of weeks ago) I just submitted it to kinkos online. AFAIK they didn't charge me for opening any files (I sent them a PDF) and it wasn't all that expensive. At least doing it online you know how much it's going to cost and what you're going to expect. 4/26/2008 1:44:53 PM |

i spent over $100 there this week getting projects bound. never been charged for opening a file their either. they're expensive, but do good work, and if they fuck up, they fix it at no extra charge ASAP

^^that works for me then. our professor was warning us to be sure they did everything right, and that submitting a project online to them could result in the project being done wrong and then having to get it fixed in store.
did you just bring it in as a pdf? 4/26/2008 1:59:46 PM |

i normally print it on campus, because it's hella cheaper, then take them a copy to have it bound.
i've taken pdf's & words doc's in the past, never any problems. pdf might be safer in case they have a different word version/different settings and it messes up the format of the word file.
just tell them exactly what you want and they can typically do it within an hour, sometimes on the spot
oh yeh, and for binding projects I highly recommend comb binding, with a clear cover and a black back (as long as you have a good looking cover page).
