Must have been a long exposure with a main flash on the camera, and in that time someone else's
camera went off as well, and created two frozen images along with the blurred exposure.

Interesting effect, lol.

I like to do that with wedding dancing - you flash and overexpose for dark shots, and you get the dreamy,
blurry lights in the background, as well as freezing the action in the foreground. If you spin the camera,
it makes the background all twirly and the foreground just solid.

There were a few people shooting with their camera's last night. This one came off of mine. A few of them were like that actually.

If I put it on the night time setting, this effect didn't happen quite as much. With that setting, I think the flash goes off a couple of times.

But some of the pics with just the flash on turned out kind of gay or blurry

Oh, ok, so your camera was already on nighttime + multiple flash, so both those frozen images
were created by your own flash. Gotcha.

I think it's a decent picture, but you might want to time your flashes so that the two frozen images compliment each other
(looking left/right, up/down, two different faces, placement of limbs). As it is, you got an excellent combo -
facing the crowd, and facing his guitar, with the legs still in the same position. Just note that the first flash-illuminated image
will be overpowered by the second image, so in this case, the upper head is slightly obscured by the lower head.

Because of the flash, you will have to contend with the stronger illumincation of closer objects. Heads in the foreground will
appear larger and brighter than your subject. You're tall so you won't have that problem as much, but
you might want to put someone up on your shoulders to take a clear shot.

The longer the exposure, the more background light you're going to get, so a stable camera is more useful in keeping those light sources stationary in the image.

To correct the foreground/subject light levels, duplicate the image in a layer and raise the brightness that you want for the subject.
Use a nice, thick feather (50 for small images, and up to 200 for larger ones) and cut the lower part of the image
(of the closer, brightly illuminated backs of heads). This will result in a background image of regular brightness
and a second brighter layer of just the intended subject. It'll just be more balanced.

Yeah, just for those shots (evenly lit) go ahead and open it up in whatever photo editing program you have and make 'em brighter.

Be sure to add contrast along the way, and despeckle several times.

Might want to use the clone tool to get rid of those white circles in the first one (last post of yours before this post). Was it humid that night?
