What they should do is have the first 16 picks on Friday night primetime

then have the second half of round 1, along with rounds 2 and 3 on saturday

then 4-7 on sunday

this would make the top picks seem even more important

Morgan to the Panthers would be good value at this point considering many think he would have mid-first round next year had he stuck around.

Haha, I sent in a comment to ESPN's DraftCast saying, "It blows my mind that ESPN has managed to mispell Dajuan Morgan's name throughout the entire draft process" and they fixed it an hour after that. Nice.

I wish KC wasn't in the same division as the Chargers though. I guess they'll just have to be my second favorite AFC West team.

Darrell Blackman has signed with the Vikings as a free agent. He got a $75,000 signing bonus.

Great coverage on the N&O website:

Quote :
" Detroit drafts State's Morgan in 3rd round

The Detroit Lions drafted N.C. State safety DaJuan Morgan in the third round Sunday morning, making Morgan the 82nd overall pick of the 2008 NFL Draft. "

We all should revolt on the N&blOw. That article about the College Inn was clear bias on their part and shows their witch hunting mentality when it comes to NC State athletics.

yeah really.

Quote :
"I asked Curliss whether this might be a case of aiming for one story and, when it didn't pan out, running it anyway.

"What's wrong with that?" he asked. Even if there's no wrongdoing, he said, the paper is providing a service to readers with new information on the role of sports on campus. "I view it as part of my responsibility to tell readers what these booster groups are up to." "

http://www.newsobserver.com/opinion/columns/story/1051613.html

the sports editor admits it was a witch hunt that turned up nothing, but they ran it anyway.

It really speaks volumes about our society when you almost have to have a legal defense team just because some second rate "journalist" woke up and have an "original" story idea...

I'm not amused by the N & Blow anymore....they've lost all anti-state creativity. At least in the past you had to look for it a bit....now its just repetitive.

Me being in VA, I didn't hear about the N&blow story until now and after reading it and the response column...it is very obvious that they had a specific intent to not only run the story but cause the result. If I live in Raleigh when done with school, it will take quite a bit for me to subscribe (assuming they don't change their attitude).

Quit acting like you are keeping the WPC and ticket office afloat. If they dropped every one of their seats, someone else would buy them up. Possibly even someone that shows up for games.

Report on gopack.com of Blackman signing with the Lions and Hauschka signing with the Vikings....who was their kicker last year I have already forgot Longwell? How did he do? Kicking in a dome is a lot easier than be outside so hopefully Hauschka can win that spot.

Didn't Deraney sign with the Lions before he got hurt? Is he still there? That would be cool if we could monopolize their special teams.
