But I walked out to the strawberry field to find it covered in freshly sprouted morning glories - most plants still have just two leaves.

If you want some free morning glories, PM me.

morning glories are evil. I just sprayed a preplant herbicide on my tobacco land to keep from having to deal with morning glories and that other evil plant, nutgrass, among other things.

good for you, but guess what?

evil requires sentience

therefore morning glories, and indeed all plants, are neither good nor evil

but your blatant disregard for the health and safety of our bodies and ecosystems by applying poison to the earth,

simply to save a few bucks from the modest costs of traditional and sustaniable organic farming techniques,

(http://attra.ncat.org/attra-pub/tobacco.html http://www.google.com/search?q=organic+farming
http://www.appvoices.org/index.php?/site/voice_stories/tobacco_farmers_go_organic_join_forces_with_enviros/issue/539)

means that YOU SIR are evil,

not these beautiful flowers

(repent! go green!)

Yes, you do know what they are.

They're morning glories.

Quote :
"garden supply companies coat them in poison to prevent people tripping off 'em"

Uh, no.

The stuff they're treated with isn't to keep people from ingesting them. It's what most seeds sold for gardening are treated with: fungicide and other, for lack of a better words, preservatives.

" morning glory

The seeds of several varieties of Morning Glory (Ipomoea violacea) contain a naturally occurring tryptamine called Lysergic Acid Amide (LSA), which is closely related to LSD. Seeds are taken orally, and can be eaten whole or the active alkaloids can be extracted.

The most common active varieties of seeds are Heavenly Blue, Pearly Gates, and Flying Saucers. Like LSD, LSA acts as a "psychedelic" or "hallucinogen" which can have strong mental effects. "

why the rolly eyes?

^
that actually may have been done, I'm not sure

(it's like the strychnine myth)

what is funny is how morning glory seed packets have "use in a manner other than directed is prohibited" or something

Quote :
"Recreational use

Main article: Ergine

The seeds of many species of morning glory contain ergot alkaloids such as the hallucinogenic ergonovine and ergine (LSA). Seeds of I. tricolor and I. corymbosa (syn. R. corymbosa) are used as hallucinogens. The seeds can produce similar effect to LSD when taken in the hundreds. Though the chemical LSA is illegal to possess in pure form, the seeds are found in many gardening stores, however, the seeds from gardening stores are almost always coated in some form of mild poison in order to prevent ingestion. same for sunflowers.

they're taller than they should have been when thinned (which is what I just did), but i'm gonna try and plant some of these.

PM me immediately if you want some. They're about 3' tall.

I also have some root growth hormone, to increase chances of success.
