While I agree with this sentiment, that's not very realistic. Nobody can be a winner all the time; you don't always get the job you apply for, you aren't always smarter or more clever than someone else, etc. In a world where resources are finite, and therefore require distribution, there will necessarily be competition. The notion of "competition == bad" not only sets people up for disappointment, it also makes them unable to cope with that.

the pronunciation is "toor-nuh-muhnt". It sounds almost the same whether you stick the "n" sound to the first syllable or the second. I believe "turn-a-mint" is slang.

Yeah it originated from "toor'n?-m?nt" so adding the n to the first syllable and making it only 2 syllables is probably the most correct way.

It's spell tournament but it's pronounced Raymond Luxury Yacht.
