I always thought that Vivace was overrated.

I'm pretty fond of Porter's...being that it's my last name and all!

But their food is pretty good too

If you are just eating by yourself, i'd say try out Fraziers and then use whatever is left at one of the other places. The chef at Fraziers knows his stuff and the food is good, even if i think he is slightly over-complicated. As far as rating the food, i would say Frazier's, South, Vivace, Porter's. The last i heard of Porter's (after i left their employ 2 months ago) was that the chef can't get a good handle on the place, and as a result, he's turned into kind of a dick, the waitstaff therefore doesn't like him, and the food has taken a downturn. This means the food is okay at best and it will likely be a little slow getting to you.

The last time i was there, it was when the place was dead between lunch and dinner, and my burger still took 20 minutes and was overcooked (i asked for medium, i got well).

South's chef also knows his shit and their line does a good job.

Vivace probably has the best lunch selections.

perhaps i will use it at south. ive eaten vivace, but this was like 1.5 years ago.
and same with fraziers or porters, i forgot which one we ate at (arent they side by side on hillsborough? we ate at the one with real good chips, homemade and stuff)

i havnt eaten at south, ive heard its a southern cuisine, which could be good. but ive also heard that you are paying $50 for fried chicken and or shrimp and grits.

Fried chicken there is definitely not $50. I was there for lunch and I think it was more like 10 bucks and I doubt its astronomically higher than that at dinner. And it was delicious btw.

Yeah South is good and you can get a nice salad and the most expensive entree on the menu at dinner for like 30 bucks
