they have really strict requirements
GENERAL GUIDELINES To give blood for transfusion to another person, you must be healthy, be at least 17 years old or 16 years old if allowed by state law, weigh at least 110 pounds, and not have donated blood in the last 8 weeks (56 days) or a donation of double red cells in the last 16 weeks (112 days). "Healthy" means that you feel well and can perform normal activities. If you have a chronic condition such as diabetes or high blood pressure, "healthy" also means that you are being treated and the condition is under control.
Other aspects of each potential donor's health history are discussed as part of the donation process before any blood is collected. Each donor receives a brief examination during which temperature, pulse, blood pressure and blood count (hemoglobin or hematocrit) are measured.
Making donations for your own use during surgery (autologous blood donation) is considered a medical procedure and the rules for eligibility are less strict than for regular volunteer donations. Acupuncture Age Allergy, Stuffy Nose, Itchy Eyes, Dry Cough Antibiotics Aspirin Asthma Birth Control Bleeding Disorders Blood Pressure, High Blood Pressure, Low Blood Transfusion Cancer Chronic Illnesses Cold, Flu Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, Variant (vCJD);"Mad Cow Disease" Dental Procedures Donation Intervals Heart Disease Heart Murmur, Heart Valve Disorder Hemochromatosis Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, Blood Count
Hepatitis, Jaundice Hepatitis Exposure Herpes (see Sexually Transmitted Disease) HIV, AIDS Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRP) HPV (see Sexually Transmitted Disease) HPV vaccine (see Immunization, Vaccination) Hypertension, High Blood Pressure Immunization, Vaccination Infections Insulin (bovine) Intravenous Drug Use Malaria Medications Organ/Tissue Transplants Piercing (ears, body), Electrolysis Pregnancy, Nursing Sexually Transmitted Disease Sickle Cell Syphilis/Gonorrhea Tattoo Tuberculosis Travel Outside of U.S., Immigration Vaccinations Venereal Diseases Weight 4/29/2008 10:30:59 AM |

So you're just gonna post a bunch of conditions, and no more information
Most of those aren't blanket exclusions, so I don't know why you'd simply copy and paste a list without providing more information.
At least for tattoos and piercings, if they're done at a licensed NC parlor, you can donate at Rex. I don't deal with the triangle red cross, so I can't speak to whether they use that rule, too. 4/29/2008 10:33:53 AM |

I've 'donated' at the red cross off of new bern avenue many times. technically the blood was for me and the pints that were left over were put into circulation. Never had a problem. 4/29/2008 10:40:32 AM |

Acceptable if the tattoo was applied by a state-regulated entity using sterile needles and ink that is not reused. Only a few states currently regulate tattoo facilities, so most donors with tattoos must wait 12 months after tattoo application before donating blood. You should discuss your particular situation with the health historian at the time of donation.

Rex blood center rules...if you make an appointment you actually get in around that time. I don't know why TRC makes appointments at all. I've been turned down (at TRC) because my temp was 0.2 degrees over the limit.4/29/2008 10:45:50 AM |

Don't feel too bad. I'm permanently banned from donating due to possible Mad Cow exposure:

I love giving blood and have been doing fairly regularly since I was 17. I've had a couple of times when I wasn't eligible, but overall, it's been easy to be eligible. I gave on the REX bus a couple of weeks ago and I have to say they did an awesome job. I mean I love the Red Cross and have volunteered for them several times, but REX got people in and out and seemed a bit more organized. 4/29/2008 1:46:02 PM |

I won't say I love giving blood but I do it pretty frequently. And by 'blood', I mean 'platelets'. They can take a triple donation from me
And I'm B-, so they kind of like my blood. But they like my dad more (O-)
I asked one day 'anything more I can do to help?'
Them: "Yeah. Start giving platelets"
