so I somehow screwed up my coworkers machine. it happened some time ago so i can't say what i did but its not an emergency anyhow.

everything seems to work fine as far as drivers and programs. the only thing that will not work is windows update. basically i somehow reverted his computer to SP2 circa 2004. can't update using automatic or ie (verson 6.0 btw).

i know there are some things he can manually update like IE and WMP but as far as security fixes and things go i'm stuck. also when sp3 comes out, will there be a way to manually apply it outside of Update because that would pretty much resolve everything, no?
