• Celibacy is linked to health problems.

• Prostitution raises women’s self-esteem.

• Heterosexuals were never in much risk from AIDS.

• Jesus Christ denounced lying – not pre-marital sex, contraception, abortion, or drug use.

• Adolescents who experiment with drugs are better adjusted than their peers.

• Marijuana users are happier than non-users.

• America’s gardens contain easily accessible heroin and hallucinogens.

• Caffeine is as addictive as cocaine. Nicotine is more addictive than heroin. LSD addiction is impossible.

• Heroin is harmless.

• If you tried crack or heroin it is unlikely you would ever become addicted.

• One of the 20th century’s greatest scientific discoveries was drug induced, as was one of the 19th century’s greatest paintings.

• President George W. Bush has used cocaine and, like his wife and daughters, he has also used marijuana.

• In America, people serve longer prison sentences for drug charges than for rape or manslaughter.

• The federal government bullies states and foreign countries whose citizens wish to decriminalize drugs.

• America’s global drug war made 9/11 possible.

^yeah when I read that I was a little confused. I mean I've never done it, but from what I understand it's one of those drugs you can die from an overdose.

Lots of dramatic statements there.

I'm concerned that given the "heroin is harmless" bit that this guy doesn't properly throw out both sides of the argument. By that I mean: It could be a bunch of fact stacking which completely disregards any of the conventional wisdom or research from the other side of the argument due to what one study (or group of studies) says.

Somebody on here is bound to have already read that book though, given the list of statements you posted up there.

I saw a 20/20 special on something about this. There are indeed gay animals, duh, UNC, but they also created gay rats. I believe what they did was denied a certain chromosome or something that normally occurs in a rats development and the male rats would exhibit female behavior when mounted by another male rat.

Couldn't that 20th century discovery be LSD? I mean, it's highly subjective as to whether or not it was one of the greatest scientific discoveries (it's certainly had an impact on society for better or for worse), but it was certainly a drug induced discovery of a drug.

While we're at it... why don't we speak in accurate terms instead of catch phrases.

Dude was high on LSD when he came up with the structure of DNA.

He went so far as to partly credit LSD with the discovery.

Ok, I was down with what this shit was saying, but looking at the unprofessional website and this little gem I ran across changed my mind. The list of famous people who have used LSD:

Quote :
"Ralph Abraham (mathematician)

Richard Branson (CEO, self-made billionaire)

Aristotle

Cicero

Douglas Englebart (invented computer mouse)

Richard Feynman (Nobel laureate in physics)

Michel Foucault (philosopher)

Bill Gates

Cary Grant

Steve Jobs (Apple co-founder/CEO, self-made billionaire)

Mitch Kapor (software pioneer)

Robert Kennedy

Francis Krick (Nobel laureate in physiology)

Groucho Marx

Kary Mulis (Nobel laureate in chemistry)

Anaïs Nin (writer)

Plato

Sophocles
"

This is probably a book held together by staples.

i really want a khat bush- cathinone is supposed to be an amazing stimulant, but it will never be popular here because the alkaloid is highly unstable after the plant material dies. i'm just gonna have to go to yemen i guess

^^^^it has lysergic acid, but it has some shitty side effects

The common name for ergotism is "St. Anthony's fire", in reference to the symptoms, such as severe burning sensations in the limbs.[3] These are caused by effects of ergot alkaloids on the vascular system due to vasoconstriction of blood vessels, sometimes leading to gangrene and loss of limbs due to severely restricted blood circulation. The neurotropic activities of the ergot alkaloids may also cause hallucinations and attendant irrational behaviour, convulsions, and even death.[1][2] Other symptoms include strong uterine contractions, nausea, seizures, and unconsciousness. Historically, controlled doses of ergot were used to induce abortions and to stop maternal bleeding after childbirth.

sigh- drugs are so poorly understood in this country- it is really a great shame that our government deliberately provides the people with misinformation about drugs. they should give up and tell the truth- people have used drugs in huge numbers since they began treating social health problems as criminal offenses.

if a heroin user had hypothetical access to heroin that had a standardized amount of diamorphine by weight (which would be easy to do) and that was free of contaminants, i believe that there wouldn't be nearly as many deaths from overdose. many heroin users are physiologically healthy if they do not mainline the drug with dirty needles and give themselves infections. if the supply is steady, the effect on the body is fairly minimal overall. it lowers heart rate and blood pressure. this compound is legalized for prescriptive use in the UK. there are many, many, many people in the united states who abuse opiates that are standardized in dose- there would be way less dead heroin addicts if this was available. instead they try to give them methadone which has a much longer withdrawal period- almost 30 days compared to 4 days of heroin withdrawal- why would this help anyone quit?

you people that have never done hard drugs can't help but have a skewed perspective of what "addiction" and "recovery" is like. ask jackleg- the physical effects of addiction to the 'worst' drugs only lasts a few days- its the psychological need that keeps the user coming back. addiction index charts are worthless because all they really show is how habitual the drug is in the users lifestyle, not really that much about the time period of withdrawal.

Saw something on the History Channel about that stuff. Apparently the skinnies were chewing on it before the whole "black hawk down" fiasco.

khat (any form that i've tried) is bullshit really. got it from some people who were from some country where it was cultivated. maybe it was just too old / too dry. but we had more fun talking about it than actually using it. worthless to me.

also in this thread someone mentioned me, i forget who. but i remember agreeing mostly with that statement. decided to add my own info.

i think that with heroin, if you could have a pharma grade then there would be far less overdoses. look up overdoses on any kind of drug... you'll see that most of them come from something that was not what it was sold as. i find it unfortunate that im so familiar with this shit (but i have spent countless hours in the past almost 2 years reading and writing and talkin about this)

most of the ODs that i know of come from either bad shit, or incorrect injection, or underlying infection that wasnt noticed.

as for how long it takes to flush your system.. i think that heroin and other similar pharma makeups are a little longer than 4 days, as 4 days is usually how long it takes to hit the peak. then the peak lasts a while

having dealt with both sides, and dealing with people on both sides, i think people are more likely to die from the withdrawals, or if they make it that far, from the depression (suicide/guilt. theres lots of guilt in those people)

the khat has to still be green and fresh- if it was dry, the cathinone was gone. its supposed to be rather similar to amphetamine in effects.

yeah, i guess i spent about a week with my head in a wastebasket from oxy withdrawal. there were a whole bunch of overdoses linked to jerkoffs who substituted fentanyl for heroin in chicago a while back. Fentanyl has an LD50 of .5-1 mg/kg in humans
