i have a gas range.
one where when you turn it on, the gas comes on, a little wire sparks
boom.
boil water.

well.
i just used the stove.
and the whole time the wire was sparking.
(it makes a loud click sound)
now it won't go off.
the wire just keeps sparking and sparking.
like every second.
srsly.

who the fuck do i call.
its been doing it for like 20 min

range stove whatever.
seriously im about to cry.

I had some horrendous gas rage over the weekend.

call cody he could probably look at it... there is a little contact switch that sends current to the igniter it has somehow become stuck (probably food residue) you need to de-stickaffie it .

(seriously hitting the range near the knob might work)

unplug it, pull it away from the wall a few inches and find where it plugs in

or in the mean time cut off the breaker to that part of the house if it's really driving you bat shit crazy

^^^aha sorry. i didnt realize these things plugged in.
i thought they were like ovens or something.

i think some water spilled into the knob.

could that be the problem?

Make sure you have a ciggy lit when you unplug the gas.

no dont worry about the gas.. i mean, turn the knob off obviously but its not going to leak or anything just bc its unplugged

Well i mean.... grills don't plug into the wall and they're gas too.. so i can understand that....
But they also don't have digital displays etc.

just leave it unplugged and use a lighter to light it

Be careful. If you let the stove drop below 50 mph it may explode.

Probably just needs a new switch or a spark module. I doubt it would cost much to get it fixed.
