ok so ive got two printers.

one is an HP color. forgot the model # but its prints good colored stuff.

the other is a tektronix 850dx, a very good color printer.

so the problem is i am printing this image

now on the HP it prints clear as day. on the tektronix it prints with little dots, seems like the resolution isnt that good.

anyone know how i adjust this? we are printing from microsoft word (doing a brochure).

its not the printer because i printed another picture and it came up very very nice on the tektronics. the setting on it is set to enhanced, i even had it at high resolution/photos setting. still nothing.

is it because the image is too low resolution for the tektronix but ok for the HP?

what color are the dots and are they spaced out evenly or goes with the gradation of the picture? Noticeable in the white areas or all over?

mainly noticeable in the white areas. you can see them througout. here they are. i scanned them

first one is the HP printer.

this one is the tektronix.

kinda hard to see with the scans. but you can see how different the two pics on each page is.

its not big deal but i just want to have it right for future stuff. the HP takes like 5 mins. to print the same picture that the tektronix spits out in like 30 sec.

have you tried converting the document to a PDF before printing?

It looks like some sort of halftone issue.
