I'm having knee surgery the beginning of June. The surgeon is going to sign off on 2 weeks of short term disability for me but then I have to return to work. However he told me there's no way I'll be able to drive for 6 weeks.

How the fuck am I gonna get to and from work?! (none of my co-workers live nearby nor am I on their way in).

Go talk to Lynn Mendel at Disability Rehab. PM me if you want and I'll give you her number if I can get it.

PS: the macro shot of the grasshopper exoskeleton leaning on a calendar was taken by yours truly.

Plan ahead. Meet an emotionally needy chick with a car and get her to latch onto you before the surgery. She can also cook, clean, and run errands for you.

Women love taking care of things. Why do you think Toys R Us has aisles of doll babies?

Ok, that's cool. But find a vocational rehabilitation office in NY, they're quick to help if your case doesn't require much paperwork. Best bet is to book a meeting and just sit down with someone and do it all in one session.

^^If I could use public transportation easily I wouldn't drive to work in the first place. My piece of shit company moved to an Eastern Queens location (b/c its cheaper) far from any subway hub. For me to get to work using public transportation would require me to walk 7 blocks to the subway, take the subway 5 stops, walk 2 blocks, get on another train, take that 7 stops and then take another bus 3 miles. And then walk another 5 blocks to the office.

Daily taxi trips to and from work would be $texas.

Hence employment rehab... ignore it if you want to but if you do the paperwork, that shit will get you compensated.

Did they lift the Internet usage ban at work for you? Or are you at home?

B/c you've been posting up a storm recently...
