This sight is pretty awesome...it can track any flight from any commercial airline, as well as any private jet...it will give you updates on delays, etc...I just looked up a flight and I got all types of information...original arrival time, updated/estimated arrival time, total miles travelled, miles remaining, aircraft type...and I've heard theres even more information available for private flights...all you really need for commercial flights are the Airline name and the flight #...pretty cool site, check it out

I use it all the time to track where my team planes are. It is pretty awesome. It wont track all private planes though. Some high profile people have their tail numbers "private"

if a high profile person gave you the flight number could you track it then, or do some people opt out of the whole system?

you can track most private planes if you know the tail number. Some people block their tail numbers from being tracked for security reasons.

apple widget FTW. they have a default widget that does that and displays the plane on a map to show its progress visually. pretty cool but not as detailed as flightaware.com i'm sure.

At first I figgured they just went of the electronic flight filing system like ATC does... but I can't find a flight that I KNOW is in the air and on that system... so maybe they go by the commercial bases... or they just don't post logged military flights. hmmmm
