yeah, so that was fun. Car alarms going off, looked out the window, the gust of wind was upward of 80mph easily.

That's stronger than some of the gusts Raleigh had during hurricane Fran. 80mph would cause a lot of damage. You sure it was that much? On a side note, reports of golf ball sized hail in Chapel Hill.

yeah, i was comparing it to looking out the window of fran. that was pretty intense, and the wind was a huge gust. And hearing that hail hit the window is creepy as shit. glad my car is in the basement level below the building
