I never had a work permit, and I worked continuously from 15 on

And you received official company paychecks?

Or was this more of a white envelope full of cash sort of thing?

I think in my home state you only had to have a work permit under from age 14 until 16 when you were legally allowed to work.

yeah, i worked at the teeter and kmart in high school, never had to get a work permit, even though it's required by law.

I got a work permit, nobody looked at it though. It's just a dumb piece of paper signed by your guidance counselor or something - that shit was like 10 years ago so I barely remember.

I was told that I had to get one since I started to work when I was 15, but that it didn't matter from 16 onward.
