best to watch the game (as in view, # of TVs, location) was Playmakers, but they got a new owner, not sure what has changed

Jax has worse service and food than Sammy's, as if such a thing was even possible

we had to wait like 20 minutes for the waitress to bring our checks. and the place wasn't even full

I would recommend not going to Woody's tonight or any Thursday unless you like crappy, too loud acoustic covers.

I go to a lot of these bars a lot and here are my favorite places in order for wings, fries and beer.

1. Carolina Ale House - AWESOME grilled wings and fries and the blue line lagar is phenomenal.
2. Jax - Great wings and sauce, gotta love waffle fries and decent beer deals.
3. Sammy's - Above average wings but sauce and fries aren't the greatest. Decent beer deals but I love sitting outside and watching tv so I go here more often even though the food isn't the best.
4. Playmaker's - Wing sauce is below average but they have good chips. Good beer deals on Tuesday's.

Note: I only been to Woody's once and didn't get the wings so I can't comment on it and I have never been to the Bada in Raleigh so i can't comment on that. Also the original poster said he wanted to watch NBA games and I have learned the Ale House doesn't show NBA games that often. We had to ask the waitress the other night to cut the game on for us because it was all hockey and it was fucking Pittsburgh vs. Philly like anyone cares about that.

^ I was suprised that they didn't have the NBA playoffs on ONE tv in a place that has 30 something tvs. They had the fucking Reds/Marlins baseball game on and not the NBA playoffs.

The Woodys in Cary isn't bad. They have a .50 cent rib night which is sweet, good beer specials also.

And Mac's Tavern is also a pretty solid play to watch sports, although I don't know if it is a "sports bar" per say.

I try to find the places that are crowded enough that the atmosphere is good, but isn't so packed that it becomes uncomfortable, often Sammys falls into that catagory. Also, their service is terrible.

I try to support the businesses around state. except for sammy's. no service. food's decent, but the waitresses SUCK!!!!

my order of favorites:
1. the PR. Player's Retreat. Its awesome.
2. Mitch's.
3. Farmhouse.
4. 5 o'clock

It also depends on what I'm doing. If I want a nice meal and then drinking, def. PRs. Just getting shitfaced would be farmhouse or 5 o'clock. And for everything else there's Mitch's.
