Know nothing about bikes, don't ride them or intend to, but this thing is beyond HOT.

I'd love to have one of these (MH900e)

the 748 and 916/all of its successors family of bikes is also awesome, along with the 1098. I'd never pay for any of them, though--i'd rather have a japanese race-rep for a fraction of the price, unless I was just filthy rich.

my granddad was a Ducati dealer (and pretty much all other euro bikes, though mostly BMW) back in the day.

meh, ducati's with fairings kind of defeat the point. the frame is so gorgeous why would you want to hide it?

Ducati Desmosedici RR

Quote :
"For a reported $72,500, Tom gets the first Desmosedici RR to arrive in the United States. The roadgoing version of the racing bike ridden by MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner, only 1,500 of which will be made, built around an 800cc V4 kicking out 200 horsepower. The first 500 Desmosedici RRs were slated to go to owners of the 999R, but while Cruise is known to be a previous Ducati owner, a simple "show me the money" moment probably put him at the top of the list."

Ducati Hypermotard

Is that a dirt bike or what? The tires are too smooth for dirt. But if it is a dirt bike, it is the only beautiful/non-ugly dirt bike in the world.

Bono auctioning his Ducati for charity

Quote :
"This particular 916 is even more special than your run of the mill V-twin Italian scooter with a desmodromic valvetrain and a host of racing features like a single-sided swingarm and underseat exhaust. The ownership of this bike has a quite an '80s-rock provenance to go with it. First, it was wheeled by the late Michael Hutchence of INXS, before being owned by U2's Adam Clayton and ultimately ending up in Bono's care. The Ducati is up for auction to raise funds for Riders for Health, an organization that provides healthcare to remote locations in Africa and uses motorcycles to reach those in need."

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/01/roland-sands-creates-a-custom-ducati-hypermotard/

Roland Sands creates a custom Ducati Hypermotard

Quote :
"Roland Sands is no stranger to fast bikes, nor is it outside his normal realm to modify a V-Twin-based machine. Usually, though, those V-Twins are from Harley Davidson. Sands goes a bit outside the box with his latest custom creation, the Ultramotard, based upon a stock Ducati Hypermotard platform. We have no details on what exactly Sands has done to this beast, but a look at the photos definitely shows that not much went untouched. The Ducati "L-Twin" engine has certainly been modified, as you can see - but what changes, if any, were made inside the cases are as yet unknown. The snazzy paint job looks great, as do the custom dual exhaust pipes exiting off to the side. Performance Machine parts were used liberally, and those wheels are likely PM items that you'll be able to buy. "

And finally, last but not least:

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/07/25/fast-files-ducati-flash-drive/

Fast Files: Ducati flash drive

Quote :
"Ducati is positioning itself as the Ferrari of motorbikes. They may not say it, but that's what it comes down to. Like Ferrari, they make some of the fastest and most desirable Italian road-rockets around. Like Ferrari, they been 'round the GP circuit. And like Ferrari, they've been ramping up their merchandising efforts to increase brand awareness and capitalize on it. But Ducatis are much smaller than Ferraris, so if the latter has a range of laptop computers, Ducati's answer is a USB memory drive.

The bikemaker partnered with the biggest name in the business, SanDisk, to offer this Extreme Ducati Edition USB Flash Drive (in addition to a selection of flash memory cards). For starters, the Ducati flash drive is one of the slickest, sleekest, fastest-lookin' portable digital storage devices we've ever seen. And it's got the performance to match, with transfer times of 20MB/sec and a 4GB capacity. It also comes packed with file recovery software and a lifetime warranty. Just be careful when taking those sharp corners, or you could end up crashing your system."

I think the new Monster 696 looks awesome. Alot of the Ducati purists seem to think it looks terrible. Definitely giving the Speed Triple a run for its money

a guy used to have a ducati and parked near (it's been a while, i can't remember the building but where the CSC department is) when i was in school. i have never seen a ducati up close and personal except occasionally walking by his, but you always knew when he was coming or going... ducati's sound incredible.
