but you don't want to turn people away before you actually talk to them, at least that's what they say. We post our prices, but many others don't for either their sitting fee or their reprint prices. It's just something that people have been preaching in seminars and crap for years.

and the industry? my mom takes wedding photos sometimes, not for business, just gets calls through word of mouth and stuff. and i've only heard of a photography club, and some class as UNCG. which is the industry?

damn, only a 25 mile limit? We're basically on a 1 hr and it's included, then we talk (4x4 needed, etc).

The "industry" is a lot of photographers who have tons of initials after their name and charge a lot because they think they can, or think they are good enough to go by their name alone. It's slowly changing, but when we were going through dozens of photographers websites (locally and regionally) it was amazing how many we found that offered almost no information on pricing for shoots or prints.
