Would you recommend taking a philosophy class (either 205 or 221) online in the fall? Has anyone taken one of these, and was it easy or hard? I had a class in the spring that I had to drop because the teacher was tough, and I was wondering if doing it online might be easier?

I took 205 and it was just a bunch of reading. I imagine the online version would just allow you to complete that reading at your own pace (faster), take the relevant tests and quizzes, and be done with the class that much sooner. However, I don't know it the online class is structured to allow you to do that.

In my experience, some online classes are way easier and some are way harder...just depends on the class and teacher.

Hey, if you know who's teaching the class you can email them and ask how much work there is to do. You know, how many readings there are, how big are the readings, how many quizzes or tests...

You'll at least get an idea that way.

I took a history at Wake Tech instead of NCSU. (I can a history or Philosophy so I took another History). Didn't read a single chapter. Got a 94 with minimal work.

i've taken a few online classes, and they've been relatively easy. usually the trick is keeping up with the reading/message board posts/dvd lectures.

ENG 331 was very easy - regular weekly discussions, a grammar quiz, 12 page or so proposal, memo, group project to revise instructions and a resume and cover letter - those were the only assignments throughout the whole course

i took eng331 online... mine wasn't bad at all, though some teachers require more work (and are more anal about said work) than others

Take it with Larsen. Very straightforward, no BS, easy to make an A if you do the work.

I took PHI 221 w/ Heche in the fall, pretty easy A. Open note exams, a few writing assignments, all of them either summary of the text or subjective insight/opinion type stuff.

BUS 225, I took that online too, good times. I still have the course book the professor created, it has some good advice I think in there.

Take English 331 with Helo. She's an amazing professor who actually cares about her students. She stopped class one day to tell us about ebates.com and couponcabin.com and stuff. She's super nice.
