So we've heard a lot about peak oil lately and I wanted to explore peak coal..
oh yeah, there is no such thing because we have plenty of it but the environmentalists say we can't use it.
There would also be no such thing as peak oil if we were allowed to drill in our own country. 5/23/2008 3:03:04 PM |

uh oh, a conservative thinker made a parody thread.
i sense them calling for your suspension soon.
don't worry though, you can still make parody threads in TSB bashing conservatives though.. 5/23/2008 3:22:36 PM |

^wait, what?
back on topic: i'm all for peak nuclear energy honestly. but that would be too efficient and cheap for any liberal to endorse. and it wouldn't generate enough taxes for them to run the socialized states of america.
liberals are great at ignoring the people. i think the liberals are going apeshit ever since this nomination process fucked them up this year. 5/23/2008 3:34:10 PM |

there used to be a FF plugin where it would remove the table row where a user posted so you wouldn't have to listen to them. It was widely used on salisburyboy.
and it's NUCYOOLUR energy 5/23/2008 3:35:08 PM |

Isn't coal fairly clean at this point? 5/23/2008 3:36:10 PM |

The only coal i know is Coke Coal-a.
it seems fairly clean, however can be bad on your teeth. the democrats will have this substance government controlled because it's not healthy soon enough though. not to worry people. 5/23/2008 3:37:56 PM |

^^^ Yes, we've gotten pretty good at clean coal. Still there's red tape all over the shit and we're sitting on the world's largest reserve.

didn't the handful of pilot programs that were testing out clean coal technologies fare pretty poorly? 5/23/2008 3:48:05 PM |

RUNNING OUT OF ENERGY IS NOT A LAUGHING MATTER!
Quote : | "from an online article: "The U.S. must reduce its dependence on foreign solar power," Schraeder said. "The sun was created billions of years ago, with the formation of our galaxy. OH NOE!!! WE WILL RUN OUT OF SOLAR RADIATION SOON!! WE SHOULD START CONSERVING NOW!!!!!!!1111111 SIX BILLION YEARS IS NOT VERY MUCH TIME.5/23/2008 3:49:52 PM |

^^ you know what, i really don't know...
but, didn't the nuclear technologies that we have fair pretty well? yes.
and yet you still oppose that too.
we get it. liberals oppose progress on earth at the cost of losing 2 or 3 humpback whales. it's getting old.

^The big government "socialists" are the one who support and supported the most ambitious space projects. People who wanted to cut government spending on space got their wish, and the accomplishments of space endeavors shrank accordingly. 5/24/2008 1:21:10 PM |

i don't think its quite ^that simple. there were plenty of hawks that supported the space race as well. 5/24/2008 1:30:26 PM |

^^ outside of the few, very expensive technologies yielded from research, what other good has come out of space exploration that warrants resources directed to it in exchange for resources directed to infrastructure, defense, ect? Unless there is a really high price on curing one's curiosity.
