Discover sent me a free credit report. Here's the skinny:

Score: 765/830
Credit Card Debt (Total, 3 cards): $45
Loan Debt (Total, 2 Accounts): ~$11K

I'm still curious how I've got $45 of credit card debt, I pay that junk off monthly.

Your credit report is going to show the balance that reports when the statement closes that month whether or not you pay it off immediately, which is where the 45 dollars probably came from.

Also, you should get your real FICO score because that could be way off from the fake score that Discover gives you.

If you're using Discover, your credit probably isn't that good to begin with.

what's the best way to get your FICO score? i have no idea what mine is, and should prob run a credit check on myself anyway to make sure there's nothing i need to fix prior to buying a house in the spring.

You get one for free (Equifax, I think) for 30 days and you have to pay $16 a piece for the other two, but it beats annualcreditreport.com, which is free, but you have to go through an extensive identity history, and everyone I've known who has tried it has failed.

the law requires that you get 1 free per year from all 3 top credit reporting agencies. so you can space them out to where you can check it every 4 months for free.

They don't seem to have a free report available from Equifax. They want $50.

mine was so good I never used credit, so I didn't have a credit history. sooo..... when I aplied for a job they were like- you don't exist. ha ha ha. but then I couldn't get a credit card I thought I was being responsible geting a debit card in college instead of a CC. My father finally had to hook me up with a CC a year ago so that I could exist.

just google "free credit report". i forget who I used, but they just rotate it every 4 months through the 3 different agencies so I never have to pay anything. seriously, it's the law. you are entitled to get it for free from all 3 companies once a year. so definitely don't pay for it and don't give your credit card. fuck a free trial, you can get it free free.
