driver: "no, you may not get off the bus. what happens if you don't make it to your destination? Those people there could snatch you." ["those people" were police and first responders]
me: "but we're like half a mile from the park and ride"
driver: "I am not going to lose my job!"
me: *carlface* "can I please just get off? There's a sidewalk right there."
driver: "no. you will get hit by traffic"
me: *carlfaceagain*

So, if you cause a disturbance on the bus, the bus driver can make you get off the bus then and there. However, if you are stuck in traffic, you can't get off the bus at all. Fucking retarded.

yeah thats WHACK. I got on the wolfline #3 not knowing that it was an express bus, so the bus driver wouldnt let me out at Jordan Hall at the top of Morrill even though we stopped for 3 mins at the red light, made me late for class n shit.

If it's a wolfline bus that has the exit in the middle of the right side of the bus, I think you can just push those doors open. They should be designed that way so people can escape in an emergency, I'd think.

At that point the guy can't chase you down and get you back on his bus, lol.

I don't think that really applies in this situation. I'm sure he has some rules and regulations he has to follow. And although you might have been held against your will, you get on the bus knowing that you are only suppose to get off at certain stops unless its an emergency. So legally you have no cause of action.

friend of mine had a taxi driver do this after he called him out for taking wrong routes to increase the bill.. my friend told the driver to let him out right there and he wouldnt do it. friend ended up calling the cops while in the car, dude thought he was kidding, friend ended up punching dude in the face, slamming on the brake pedal and getting the fuck out of the car
