I'm amazed this thread hasn't already been started!

So like lots girls my age, I've been completely obsessed with this show for many years, and the movie premiere is therefore a pretty huge deal. It's essentially been four years in the making. I ended up going at midnight last night, first in line.

I'm not entirely sure of the "rules" on movie threads, so to be safe, I'll withold my thoughts on it until other people have a chance to talk about the trailers, hype, etc. The movie actually opens in the theaters today, so hopefully others on TWW will have gone to see it in the next few days and will have 'reviews' to contribute as well.


Although... I'm being realistic in accepting that most people here (=guys) won't have positive things to say about the series OR the movie.

I can deal with that, and one of them, Kristin Davis, is actually hot! I’m doing alright. I can sit through this! One hour into the movie: Dude…. I gotta fart! I’m surrounded by girls in every direction and I don’t even want to try and get up. This sucks. I don’t have that comfort seat on at least one side of me that me and my friends know and love. This movie is depressing and girls will laugh at anything. This must be what Tony Baracca feels like 24/7! I don’t know if I can handle any more of this. One and a half hours into the movie: Dear god it isn’t finished yet? I can tell you exactly how this is going to end. And I haven’t seen a single episode of this crap. To make things worse Seabiscuit’s mole is starting to get really distracting. What the hell did all the girls just laugh at? That wasn’t even funny! 2 hours into the movie: Wow, really… We are just gonna ride this “horny dog will hump a pillow joke” all movie long. We get it. The dog is tiny and really horny and just like its owner will hump anything. And I still have to fart. I’m afraid to look at my cell phone because I’m afraid only 20 minutes have passed since the movie has started. Oh…boobs. They throw in the random boobs and graphic sex scene once every 40 minutes to entertain the guys. Much appreciated! (almost) 2 and half hours into the movie: IT’S ABOUT TO END…. IT’S ABOUT TO END! Sweet God! It’s over. I laughed a few times and got some great eye candy out of it, but at what cost! As soon as the movie is over I race to the men’s room. This might be the first time I’ve ever gone to a rest room after a packed theater has let out to find a completely empty restroom. Good, the testicles are still there. Now I hear the sounds of hundreds of excited high pitched voices sharing their opinion at the same time. It hurts the ears! This is what Andrew Nichol must feel like! It’s over. I’m safe at home. I wasted 2.5 hours of my life. Acting was good. I’ll give it that. But that’s expected, I mean these cougars and horse have been playing this role for like the last decade! I can’t say I’m a big fan of the writing or directing. The movie was way to predictable and felt way too long. Ohh wait, it was way too long! That was like 3 TV episodes long. Going by the chick flick rules and standards your date(s) must be at least an 8 in your eyes to sit through this one. I think if it weren’t for the fact that the movie is so long it might have been tolerable. Ladies, I know you are all excited about this one, and for you, I give this movie a catch the matinee. Guys, you better have some kinda deal or bargain chip in play for tonight. "

there were plenty of hotties but it seemed there were even more loud annoying unattractive 30-40 somethings.

and handling the enormous numbers was just difficult in general, we are the Greenville theater that the majority of people in Greenville go to(instead of the other big one in gville).

Carrie and Big are looking for an apt. They find a hot penthouse and Big buys it. They go to an auction for some chick whose longtime boyfriend kicked her out of his apartment and leaves her homeless and Carrie gets worried and tells Big she wants to sell her apt to put money down on the new apt they are getting. He asks why and she voices her concerns. They decide to get married.

Carrie is picked to be in Vogue as "the oldest single woman" or something and model all these designer bridal gowns. One of the designers gives her a really nice gown so she plans an elaborate wedding I guess to match the dress.

In the meantime, Miranda says she and Steve never have sex. Steve reveals that he had sex with another woman. Miranda leaves him, and bitterly tells Big that she doesn't know why they are getting married because it ruins everything. Big gets scared and basically leaves her at the altar.

Meanwhile Charlotte is knocked up and Samantha is living in California with her boyfriend and is becoming dissatisfied with the relationship.

And then the rest is pretty predictable.

After seeing the movie myself, I really don't know about this movie. I mean, as a stand alone movie...this movies doesn't cut it. The characters, the plot, the dialogue....kind of just off. If you are a fan of the series, you'll might enjoy it. But at best, in my opinion, this could have just been a TV movie because the movie is basically 4 episodes put together.

It was okay--not nearly as good as I thought it'd be.

The plot lines were predictable (esp. if you've seen the extended trailer). I wasn't surprised in the least bit.

And, also, I just don't think Steve would cheat on Miranda.
