I've only seen the new one on the actual jawbone site, and it looks like it only is for AT&T customers...or something.

So is there any reason whatsoever why it would be better to order it from somewhere like bestbuy as opposed to amazon?

well when I was at Bestbuy, I was wondering how one tries one on...and of course you can't because it's a sanitary thing...so then she says, 'well I mean you could literally go outside, try it on, and if you didn't like it you ould come right back in and return it'......which sounds great and all but then isn't that still a sanitary issue?

Don't matter cause I'm just glad to be getting one. I've been using the Motorola 850 or 750 or whatever it is and I have to scream at it to dial anyone and it gets it right 1/10 times.

I don't physically get how the jawbone can work seeing as how there is no boom.....but obviously there's science in it as long as it works....

it uses adaptive signal processing. basically it takes all the sound it hears, and uses a little sensor against your ear/jaw to detect the vibrations of your voice.

then it cancels out all the noise except the one that matches the vibrations. pretty neat stuff and it works pretty darn well from what i hear

i've been using my jawbone for over a year now it works quite good. it is heavy though, i don't care for headset and or jewelry/watches so its worse for me, but given the fact my office can hear me amidst all the machinery and whatnot it does what its supposed to do.

I need to get one of these. Everyone is always complaining about surrounding noise. So it really eliminates ambient noise? One of the biggest complaints i get is the noise of typing on the keyboard. Would it get rid of that?

It does it's job verrrrry well. I can mow my lawn, stand next to an air conditioner unit, drive my car with the windows down and/or the music playing, have people talking in the background, etc etc ...

The people I'm talking to on the phone have no idea what I'm doing, they hear my voice only. I've tested various noise opportunities (while calling a sibling or a friend) and asked directly if they could hear the background noises. Some have said they could hear it faintly, but only after I brought it to their attention.

Of course, this says nothing for your ability to hear them So you'll have to minimize the noise around you just a little sometimes.

I don't think this was answered yet. OEM stands for "Original equipment manufacturer". It simply means it comes barebone and without the accessories, manual, etc etc.

hold out for the jawbone 2...the original, while technologically awesome, is heavy, bulky, and the charger connection sucks donkey balls

$70-75 for the old or $100 for the new (i think)

^^Yea, I've used the bathroom as well, they've no idea.

Unfortunately [I think] that the earbuds are it's biggest flaw. They're not bad or unusable, but sometimes in really noisy environments you have to hold it lightly with your finger/hand a bit more snug into your ear so you can hear better.

For normal use though it's just fine, and while it does sit IN your ear, it's not like a jabra ear canal gel thing.

I don't know anything about the newer/smaller ones though, hopefully they are a bit lighter and actually gel into your ear better, that'd be nice.
