Well looks like you can pick up a grand marquis for about $19k or so brand new.

Out of the whole bunch $5500-6000 off.

^^This is relevant to my interests.

Since my dad's car was totaled recently, he may be getting Mom's ride and she would be upgrading. A used Grand Marquis was actually pretty high on the list, since she likes big V8 cars (currently has a '97 Crown Vic), but if you can score a new one at a fire-sale price...just might be a possibility. Gas costs aren't really a big factor as the parents between them don't even come close to 10k a year.

Hmmm.....

oh yeah!

it's really not that slow here though. this is still a growing area, and people still need cars.

this is just another opportunity for manufacturers and dealers to make a buck. sure, gas prices are hurting sales but it's also a FREE marketing/ad campaign.

seemed pretty obvious to me

The important question is will high gas costs negatively affect sales of sports/performance cars?

yeah i doubt gas prices will hit performance or sports cars that much. I mean it is a lifestyle so people are willing to pay the price to obtain it.
