hmm, my power bills have been cheaper recently. And while I have been keeping the windows open more often, February was cold and the PS3 was folding away.
So I don't think the PS3's power consumption is all that noticeable. 6/4/2008 11:09:19 AM |

$20/month can be noticeable depending on your power bill. 6/4/2008 11:10:14 AM |

well, it's UP to $250/year, so that's what, $20/month, worst-case scenario? 6/4/2008 11:10:42 AM |

not only does it look like a George Foreman, but it cooks like one too!
At least it doesn't have the failure record of the 360. Apparently Sony understands how to handle heat dissipation. 6/4/2008 11:12:19 AM |

^^thats what I was saying...my last power bill was $70 between 2 people. If I had my PS3 running at $20 month that would be noticeable.

mine is $38.95 for two people with the PS3 running 24/7.
That must mean the two of us only use $18.95 worth of electricity 6/4/2008 11:16:12 AM |

hmm...if we opened our windows more and didn't run our A/C 24/7 I bet we could see power bills that low. 6/4/2008 11:17:12 AM |

I could purchase green credits for the kWh rate they used for their dollar estimate. 6/4/2008 11:21:48 AM |

I'm not sure how big my place is; it's a three bedroom, two story townhouse.
My g/f and I split everything. 6/4/2008 11:34:31 AM |

^^ 1 one-ton...but i also run more than a few computers, which might contribute to heating (and so cooling is necessary) and the actual amount of electricity they use
*shrug*...we'll see 6/4/2008 11:45:36 AM |

^I also have one 1-ton. I generally leave it at 72 or off. But I do have 1 computer now (sold my PC) and now I just run an iMac 24/7. 6/4/2008 11:48:49 AM |

I guess people with it need to set up a bike/tread mill hooked to a generator while they play. Save some energy and burn some cals! 6/4/2008 11:50:11 AM |

^^ at 72°F...during the summer? i keep mine at 76°F (i don't like the heat, but i love cool/cold weather) during the summer and run the ceiling fans on low in all the frequented rooms (not in the guest bedroom or the office)
i just bought the place, though, so for all i know it might be pretty low...i called up progress and asked what the historic prices were, and they said it ranged from $80-120, with the average of about $100 month 6/4/2008 11:55:31 AM |
