through my speakers creating feedback?


sound goes in microphone, and it comes out my speakers. never had this problem...

double-click on the speaker icon in your taskbar next to the clock

make sure that "Mic In" or "Microphone" is either muted or turned all the way down

That will fix the problem. But why is this happening now?

Lets say, you turned your microphone up all the way. It should be doing this. Why is my microphone sound coming out of my speakers?

because you have it unmuted in the playback mixer

just like i said above

there are two mixers in windows, the playback mixer and recording mixer

Playback = sound in general.

CD Audio Muted

MIDI

Microphone

Line-In Muted

Only things that work are muting microphone, or muting my sound. That cant be right.

I want to be able to use my microphone like normal. This worked yesterday.

clicked "Do not monitor" in the advanced settings, and this seems to have solved the problem.

there is a playback mixer and a recording mixer

you say mixer like is says "mixer" anywhere. I am used to that panel just being a volume control panel. The term mixer makes me think I am missing something.

but yes, go to sound and audio devices properties, click on voice, then click on voice recording, click on advanced under microphone, and then make sure "do not monitor" is checked.

I must haved fucked with it yesterday trying to get my transmit volume where I could hear it.
