i looked online and saw that its $127/credit tuition and $12/credit fees for in-state students.
Is this an additional $127/credit on top of regular tuition? Do you have to pay this on top of what you are paying for the standard 12 hrs or does it just add extra fees? 6/6/2008 12:07:41 PM |

No, not on top of what you normally pay.
If think if you're already paying for full time tuition then you only have to pay the extra fee to add a DE class. 6/6/2008 12:08:47 PM |

so to simplify this, ill be paying an extra 36 bucks for a 3 hr class on top of what i would normally be paying? 6/6/2008 12:09:31 PM |

Yeah, I believe so. If you're already paying full time tuition then you're not going to have to pay any more just because it's a DE class. 6/6/2008 12:10:27 PM |

DE has nothing to do with regular tuition and is completely separate. you'll have to pay 127*3+36. 6/6/2008 12:11:33 PM |

it's right as far as i've seen
if you are planning on taking 15 hours, don't only take 1 distance ed.
when you take 12-15 on campus hours you are in a set fee then pay for a set of 3 DE hours, so it's just like taking 15 on campus hours and paying 400 more.
if you take say 9 hours on campus, its a lower rate; then add two distance eds and the cost isn't too much more than taking 15 hours on campus

It's true. And ridiculous.
NC State loves milking its students. This should be no surprise. 6/6/2008 12:31:04 PM |

that is: #hours, tuition, fees, total
so for 15 hours on campus it would cost you 170 bucks per hour on campus
if you took only 12 hours you'd pay 214 per credit hour
so tuition would cost you ~3k for 12 hours and 1 distance ed
if you only took 9 hours and added two distance ed it would be:

1919+~800, so you're around 2700-2800, a better rate.6/6/2008 12:32:57 PM |

if you're only planning on taking 12 hours total
taking 9 hours on campus and 1 distance ed actually saves you money. 6/6/2008 12:35:19 PM |

I'm taking 15 hours plus I have to take a 3 hour DE class to stay on track with my major.
It's a fucking scam, I'd take it on campus but when they only offer 1 section it's near impossible to do. 6/6/2008 12:36:19 PM |
