I think the majority of the Chinese food I've ordered has come in those little boxes.

I've gotten the little white boxes as to go box when I have leftovers in a Chinese restaurant but that's it.

Maybe that's my problem - I'm too piggish to have leftovers.

They do always have some several-day-old Chinese food box in the refrigerator with some chopsticks sticking out the top that they pick at, then put back in the fridge

I have never actually ate Chinese food out of the boxes, since the rice is always separate I just put it on a plate

I've gotten Chinese food quite often in those little white boxes. It's more common than you think.

To show video is taken from a video camera from within the movie, they put a REC and a blinking red light up in the corner, as well as a battery symbol

I think his point was not many people actually eat out of the white boxes.

There's plenty of chinese take-outs that still use the white paper boxes. Although, some boxes have the metal handles which are annoying. I'm chinese and I eat out of them when I'm lazy, but you will not find a chinese person who will leave chop sticks stuck into the food. It's considered bad manners and I have been beaten because of it when I was little.

Even stabbing the food with one of the sticks to eat is considered ill-mannered and barbaric. I can't tell you how many times some of my more pure blooded cousins in Hongkong would make fun of my chop stick skills growing up.

^^On that note. I hate whenever the clip tries to make the video capture so amateur yet the sound clip is studio baked and professional. Always distracts me from the reality that they are trying to portray.

Passive-aggressive person has problem and has finally built up the willpower to confront someone about an issue. The other person proceeds to share either a sob-story or gives some heartfelt compliment to the passive-aggressive person. Cue the inevitable: "Now what was it you wanted to tell me?" Cue awkward grin and either a "oh nothing, it's not important" or something completely ridiculous.

A hotshot jerk at a country club gets his comeuppance in a tennis game when the protagonist constantly hits the ball directly into the jerk's body. Which is weird because anyone of average ability can step into position and hit the ball back.

Quote :
"
"The script called for her character to be filmed nude in a shower, focusing in on her bottom and thighs. Kate insisted on a double being hired. She was quite open on the set about not liking her body and said she particularly loathed her bottom and was not comfortable baring it."
Silver Pictures put out an ad for a 5ft 8in brunette, weighing around 126 lbs (holy fat, batman - insert eyeroll here).
"It's a shower scene so there is no intimacy."
The source continued, "Kate just didn’t want to show her bottom, even though everyone on the set was saying how good it looks in jeans. She said she couldn’t face the thought of seeing her butt up on a big screen. She will have the final veto over who stands in for her.""

What a bitch

In a comedy, when two guys quietly enter a building/room/area. Guy A stealthily moves through the room giving military hand signals to Guy B, and Guy B just says very loudly "I dont understand what that means. What are you trying to say".

This is never funny.

Widescale power outages always show a birds eye view of the city withe lights going out in expanding concentric circles from the source of the outage

Bonus if they play a heavy chord for each layer of the blackout

Every corrupt high-ranking military official is slick-haired, overweight, pasty, and in his late 50s-early 60s.

Bomb goes off. People jump from the explosion and end up with dirt on their face and maybe a cut on their cheek, but never burns from the heat of the explosion.

Movies that place stereotypical characters in unexpected roles for no other reason than to try to combat perceived prejudices of the viewers.

Corollary

Hero appears to be dead/maimed, comes back in the middle of a huge firefight wearing some ridiculous outfit, murdering everything that moves while slamming rock music plays in the background and everything goes all slow-mo.

See: Machete, the Matrix, Once Upon A Time in Mexico, most Michael Bay movies for reference.

The whole premise of a comedy based on two very dissimilar people swapping bodies.

Like Freaky Friday or that new one with Ryan Reynolds that looks like a complete piece of shit.

When an actor goes over a cliff or tall building and somehow manages to hold on to small tree branch or to the ledge of the building...F$%k that-in real life your ass is hitting the ground.

^On a similar note, everyone in movies always has super reflexes...grabbing someone's hand just as they let go of a cliff or something along those lines. I imagine that would probably be near impossible in real life.

Any clear disregard on orbital mechanics...ie Transformers 3 bringing in a massive planet.

Also, when you have characters revisit the moon, the ascent stage of the lunar module should not be STILL THERE.

When the character looks down and has a small object in their hand (ring, evidence, etc) then the next scene is of them closing their hand into a fist with said object still in it and looking up and shaking their fist

Any movie with an incredibly predictable story arc - particularly comedies, or romantic comedies.

It may seem like a generalized statement, but it seems like movies are just a vector for small bits and pieces (jokes and events) tied together by some been-there-done-that plot.

Honestly - and maybe this is because I don't get out to enough movies - the most unpredictable movie I've seen recently is Crank 2. But that movie was just batty all around.
