Waraji has awesome sushi. I'm not sure if you can reserve them, but there are a handful of booths where you can do the whole sit on the floor thing.

Shabu Shabu is slightly more romantic if that is what you are looking for.

Shaba Shabu - http://www.shabashabu.net/
Wasabi - http://www.wasabicary.com/sushi.thai.japanese.cuisine.restaurant/
and
Mura - http://www.muranorthhills.com/

Are all quite good. Sushi Thai is good as well, but if you're looking for change... try out Shaba Shabu.

I've eaten at pretty much every sushi place in raleigh with exception to sono, and Mura is definitely by far my favorite. defeintely try the screaming O and piano roll. believe it or not but prime only has really good sushi too. if you go to shaba shabu get the wolfpack roll.

^^^ it's not horribly priced, no...but a meal of sushi there is $12-14 vs. sushi thai for the same amount at $6-8

i used to live just down the street from waraji, too, and the gf and i used to go there 2-3 times a month...for the money, i think sushi thai is better, though you can get better sushi from a couple of different places

I was unimpressed with Wajari. I would have to say Asahi in Cary is my Favorite. Especially since they have their all you can eat lunch buffet.

I live right down the street from Waraji too, and I still drive to Asahi in Cary if I'm in the mood for Sushi. Gets my vote hands down. It's a mile or two from Crossroads off Walnut St.

During the war we called sushi "Liberty Logs" but it didn't matter because we'd never heard of it.

DNL smells like raw fish, just get some vinegared rice and you're good to go.

the service is always amazingly bad there every time i go. it's like they don't want to be better. at least it's lightyears better than sushi blues.

i love waraji, but the service there was awful the last time I went. enough so that I didn't give the waitress a tip and told her why.

I've been to Sushi Tsune several times and enjoyed it every time. I'm no sushi connoisseur, but I think it's good (and close to campus and to where I live). Sushi Thai is good too, though I've only been to the one on Lake Boone, as opposed to the Cary one mentioned earlier.

Perhaps not relevant to this thread since you're not really in the "Raleigh Area" anymore, but if you ever find yourself with a craving for Sushi in Chapel Hill, Akai Hana in Carrboro is quite good.

Asahi in Cary.

Buy one get one free on rolls Wednesday after 8:00(expect a wait though), lunch buffet every day till 2:30(but you wanna get there by 1:00 for a good selection).

Or just show up whenever for a boat if you don't care about the price, the quality is tremendous.
