Under a Code Red alert, people are urged to avoid outdoor activities. The warning applies especially to children, the elderly and anyone with a respiratory problem, officials said. Lightning sparked a fire June 1 in the Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge and has since burned more than 40,000 acres – about 63 square miles – in Hyde, Tyrrell and Washington counties. It is the largest wildfire in North Carolina in more than 20 years and is the largest fire now burning in the U.S., officials said. Prevailing winds had carried smoke from the fire over the Outer Banks for the past week before a low-pressure front moved across the state late Tuesday, shifting winds back to the west and carrying the smoke to the Triangle. WRAL viewers said smoke was creating haze and a smoky smell from Henderson to Chapel Hill to Johnston County. The smoke prompted more than 300 people to call Wake County 911 to report a nearby fire, authorities said."

that's weird, I ran last night and it was my fastest ever. I felt fine. maybe since I ran yesterday it would be a bad idea to add on more smoke to my lungs

I ran in this yesterday as well, it really wasn't bad. I ran around 9pm, so if it was here yesterday evening i really would have gotten the brink of it. no problems of which to speak.

sure its smoky outside but its still running safe, you're not going to hurt yourself. it won't even be a cigarettes amount of damage ( i can't back that up)
