^^i thought about doing that same thing actually for this tomato...i got like 4 small trashcans i somehow acquired, so i was thinking of putting holes in the bottom of that and maybe using that as well...would rather keep the rubbermaid container air tight and not put holes(not that you have to but its just one of those things[i like the water to be able to drain]) 6/15/2008 8:16:16 PM |

container gardening is awesome
dnl, you should grow your own potatoes in a container http://www.rittenhouse.ca/hortmag/horticulture&gardens/July01/Potato.htm 6/15/2008 8:38:44 PM |

^^^ i tried growing herbs, mostly rosemary and basil, but i keep killing it
my mom said i've got to kill a lot of plants before i'll finally start getting it right, but this is extremely frustrating. 6/16/2008 7:39:28 AM |

I think gardening is a really important skill that unfortunately is dying out. The more I read about nutrition and compare a lot of suburbanites to the more rural environment I grew up just outside of, I see the reasons behind all the heart disease and diabetes, etc.
The ability to grow really wholesome food in your backyard has been replaced by store bought starch and high fructose corn syrup, everything out of boxes and cans. I'm glad some people still stick with gardening to at least provide themselves with SOMETHING natural, good on ya. 6/16/2008 7:43:19 AM |
