Set up video surveillance cameras outside your house and let your son Shane monitor them on his powerbook.

Youd be amazed how hard it is to catch on to being followed if they know what they are doing.

Haha, I guess the idea is that a private investigator isn't supposed to be detectable.

If you were worried that your spouse was trying to monitor your computer typing records or something with a keylogger (or some sleuthing software they installed), that would probably be detectable.

Another obvious way to pick up on being watched is to know what your neighbors drive (if you live in the suburbs, at least) and to keep an eye out for a car that hasn't been there before. The best way to check if anybody is inside and, if there is somebody in there, if they're a private investigator, is to jump up and down on the hood of the car like a pissed off monkey and to take a dump on the car. If they try to drive away rapidly, it's a private investigator and you've just scared them off for good. If they get out of the car and argue with you, or shoot you, or something silly like that, you've just taken a dump on your good neighbor's car.

i think i will always have a separate computer from my (if i ever have one) spouse. also, my cousin recently went thru a divorce after 8 months of marriage, and he recommends keeping finances separate for at least two years, so the lawyer will have less shit to split and it will be cheaper.
