http://www.mimeo.com
Essentially, I have manuals that I sell all over the world via web and phone. However, I have no way for International customers to place orders on my website (can't calculate shipping charges/customs issues/several others). I would be the only company in my industry to have International Web ordering capability. I don't really want to spend $$$$ to completely revamp the site I have if there is an economical interim solution.
The Mimeo Marketplace has some nice features that I could implement immediately. It's something I could get done in one week rather than six months. Just curious if anyone uses this or know someone who does. 6/17/2008 4:22:08 PM |

I know there are several and I have looked at and talked to several. There are a lot of things I like about Mimeo's marketplace/shipping capabilities, however.
1. They are in Memphis (FedEx hub) and will handle all customs
2. They are secure in terms of document protection, as far as I can tell
3. They have no minimums. My average Intl. order is ten, some order one, some order thirty. The couple companies I have talked to have minimum single orders of 100 and 250.
My webshop works flawlessly now. However, if someone from Israel wanted ten 5lb. manuals shipped to them, I have no interface to FedEx/UPS/DHL that will let them order then and there. I use a flat rate for domestic so it's easy for them.
I have printers in 4 different countries, but with the volume I ship it would be cheaper to ship from a centralized, American location to smaller countries and Eastern Europe.
Also, http://www.lulu.com is not an option, if that's one of the several you were thinking of. There site forum is only complaints and no solutions provided from anyone.
