Is it just gas prices or is there some sort of mechanical flaw with the 540's v8 that the 530's inline 6 does not have? 6/20/2008 8:49:43 AM |

The issue with the Nikasil blocks was with the E34 5-series, so...I know not. Someone else probably will. 6/20/2008 9:33:32 AM |

yeah i can't figure it out with similar mileage the v8 seems to be going for a grand or two less and i mean the LOADED ones with upgraded wheels etc. 6/20/2008 12:51:47 PM |

the 540 v8 is way more reliable then the straight six in the 530. its just availablity and gas prices. 6/20/2008 2:27:22 PM |

I don't know, those 540s with 6 speed tend to hold their values real well. 6/22/2008 11:44:20 AM |

Yeah mine (that I bought from ahmet and sold to dannydigtl) was a great driving car. Comfortable, mean when you needed it to be, all around a great car and to me at least a much more solid feeling car than a 6cyl e39 or any e36 save the M3. I was able to squeeze 20MPG out of it, which I cant seem to do yet with my toyota.

I believe Diggler is a BMW Mechanic iirc.
But I realize how crazy it is for anyone to contradict someone who has owned like three BMWs in their lifetime. 6/23/2008 10:16:13 AM |

better question is how long did you own each of those 14 BMW to get to know them? few months? by that logic dealers must be the most knowledgeable people on earth when it comes to cars since they change a car every week. 6/23/2008 2:22:22 PM |
