First time experiencing it...is it usually this bad? Its a decent rain, but the satellite has been pretty much out for half an hour.

I've never experienced rain fade on DirecTV, but the bellsouth DSL goes out every time it even looks like it might possibly almost rain. If you call and complain they hang up on you.

our directv dish does this shit all the time. it works in a monsoon but craps out when it sprinkles. We have the newer dish, a clear view of the southern sky, and it gives 100% signal when calibrating. They told us "well, this kind of thing will happen". And they make those bullshit commercials saying cable companies want you to think that it goes out.
