Is there any difference in brightness or other performance between 4-cell, 5-cell, and 6-cell maglites? I know the bigger ones are better weapons, but what other difference is there?

And they will burn longer just because they have more battery power.

who in the fuck really needs a 6-cell Maglite? for what purpose are those extra cells actually going to be an advantage unless you absolutely plan on using your flashlight as a bow staff?

if anything i feel like the extra cells are a disadvantage cause of how big and heavy the light will be.

the 4,5, and 6 cell all use the same bulb

the batteries are connected in series so, more batteries = more voltage = more lumens

...it also means the bulb will probably burn out much faster.

^^^you're obviously not from the country and maybe NC and maybe the south. if you were, you would know the purpose of a 6-d maglite

you're obviously one of those idiots who likes to drive around in a big truck even though it's not economically viable and you don't need a truck.

^^you're obviously a fucking retard. I don't drive a big truck, I drive a small truck. And yes, I use it for it's truck capabilities. not everyday, but often enough to have a truck. so why don't you stfu and quit making stupid assumptions.

^is right.

yes, but my assumptions had some validity behind them, while your's were just a stupid, needless personal attack. and I don't drive an s-10 and drag racing is gay, so try again fucktard.

how did you validate your assumptions about me? I was right that you drive a truck and that you use your big flashlight to make up for the lack of flashlight in your pants.

Man, there's a lot of hate in here.

My Maglite is a 4-cell, it works well, is plenty bright for every purpose I've found except using it as a lightsaber, and it lasts fairly well. It even works okay as a hammer.

BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE FROM THE SOUTH KNOW WHAT A 6-D MAGLITE IS FOR.

goddamn are you that retarded?

and no, it has nothing to do with your fag fantasies.

I'm done here, I can't stand the stupidity

my point is that the MAJORITY of people don't need a HUGE flashlight...unless they plan on using it as a weapon.

say you are camping, hiking, walking, using it around the house....a gigantic Maglite is gonna hold you back/weigh you down.

but they're expensive and they're small, so if you're using one as a self-defense weapon, it won't do you much good.

^ maybe he's in the MINORITY.

I'd have to say that even though the Surefires and nice, they're like a bazillion dollars.

For the money I'd take a 5 or 6 cell mag with the LED kit any day of the week.

Don't buy a flashlight that takes an odd number of batteries. You ever seen a 5 pack of Duracell batteries? That's reason enough to go with the 4 cell or the 6 cell.

I have (2) of the small 2-AA cell LED Maglites -- they work great.

Not quite as bright as my 3w LED backup lights, or my Halcyon 18w 13.5ah HID though.
