they dont own the thread,

thats how it has always worked around here. if the OP requests his/her thread to be locked or removed then we try to meet said request.

if someone other than the OP requests a thread to be locked then there is some discussion about it or its left up to the moderator to make the decision of either lock, trash or clean up the thread to keep the discussion going.

there isnt a specific rule that we are supposed to follow if that is what you are asking
