i've flown over it a couple of times. it's easy to distinguish from all of the other mountains around here--it's pretty big, and part of a side is pretty much blown off.I flew over Rainier today at 17,000' (the peak is about 14,500). we were gonna go fly a formation low level through the mountain valleys, but my wingman's jet broke before we took off...so we just went and cruised around to burn off some fuel before shooting a couple of practice approaches and some laps around the landing pattern.

^^^^ My buddy out at McChord climbed Ranier the other weekend. He's an inexperienced climber and it turned out to be a rather bad decision.

Hopefully I'll be working on my CPL this fall in Sacramento and will be able to make it out to Seattle while doing cross country work.
