in the Raleigh area

I don't have a boat and want to be able to access many locations around the lake

I did post this question a while back in the 2008 Fishing thread but everyone ignored me and continued to talk about salt water fishing

Because there isn't a "good" or even "decent" spot in Raleigh, besides Harris

on craigslist you can get a jon boat with a trolling motor and some batteries for the price of a few nice fishing reels and rods. that's all you'd really need.

The only decent water to shore fish for bass is small farm ponds.

^ Most of the big lakes also rent boats cheap as hell, so all you really need is the trolling motor and battery. Shit, I caught the biggest bass I have ever caught fishing from a paddle boat in Bond Park in Cary

wtf...I thought when I moved to NC that fishing would be amazing whether I had a boat or not

there was at least 4 or 5 good bass fishing lakes around my house in Massachusetts where I could catch a ton of bass without a boat

Personally I like Jordan but that's probably because I live close to it, but even there I can't think of any great spots to go without a boat.
