yea, I was about to say... Don't bother bringing up tribes unless we're talking about Tribes 2. Was the first game to have big enough stages to really use a snipe, hide, and started the 'jump for 20 seconds and kill 50 people' revolution polluting Unreal & Half Life.

It got ruined by shitty developers that took it, gradually, in a direction that didn't appeal to fans.

Tribes 1 was awesome. I didn't know what it was when I bought it but saw the game's description and thought it was just the COOLEST LOOKING FUCKING GAME ever made. The guy gave me a t-shirt when I bought the game too. I think it said "No Man Is An Island" on it and was no doubt the nerdiest thing I was ever gifted with a game purchase.

Was an amazing game. Tribes 2 wasn't that bad, but it did have a lot of stability issues and gameplay & voice macro changes that annoyed a lot of people. I got to like it, though. Tribes vengeance kind of was gay and didn't improve upon the series, IMO. The changes they made gave me the feeling that it was gonna suck and was mostly hype, then that was kinda backed up by the fact that nobody bought it, lol.

When I first DLed the demo for Tribes 1 that showed how to speed jump down hills I was absolutely sold on the series.

People still play both T1 & T2 I think, but T2 doesn't have any more CD keys available (unfortunately) and I can't remember my old account info. Still fun games to play if you can play em.
