1) Building must be run down
2) Furniture must be ole
3) Must be named after owner or founding family (not chain owner, owner of that one restaurant) 6/28/2008 3:11:00 PM |

must not be in NYC
I work for a place that does a reasonable facsimile but the pit master is a New York asshole that never wants to talk shop with me
he says that making eastern carolina sauce is "fucking easy... its just vinegar and crushed red pepper and shit"

Any place that has more than one kind of bbq sauce has no faith in their sauce.
Allowances can be made for one each of pork/chicken/hot sauces. 6/28/2008 4:27:37 PM |

I found a really good homemade barbecue recipe once. I need to dig it up. basically you smoke the shit out of it then throw it in a crock-pot for like half a day. and yeah, the sauce is really easy 6/28/2008 4:35:28 PM |

Even though it's a chain, Smithfield's is the SHITTTTTTTT!! Can't beat their BBQ, slaw, veggies, etc. Their sweet tea is bangin' too! Emmmmm! Got me cravin' some now!!!
And actually there's a place in my hometown of Lillington (right off the Cape Fear River) called Howard's BBQ (-n- Seafood), and it's INCREDIBLE!!!!! The food is amazing. Even their hamburger steak (which is grilled on a grill and not fried in a pan) with grilled onions is soooo delicious!!
