lineshaft drive on the #2 PM shit a bearing, if you think thats something, you should see the 750 hp motor that drives it
5" input shaft, 14" output shaft, ~900,000 ft/lbs torque @ 200:1 reduction
i wish i could take some pics of some of these turbines and 1000hp+ motors, its awesome working around this shit all day
most of these are 2300kV motors, so you can actually feel the magnetic field around them
(burned out winding on a 1500hp refiner motor)

can i swap this into a golf cart?
^^^looks to me like general crap from the atmosphere/manufacturing process. take any household motor apart like a vacuum cleaner, washer, dryer, hvac blower, etc. apart and it looks about the same. on a much smaller scale, obviously.
i guess there's at least one entertaining thing going on in the flatlands of tn.

nope, i mean 2300 volt, 2.3 kV, doh
most everything up to 150 hp is 460 volt, everything above that is 2300 volt here

thats residue from the lacquer/resin that insulates the windings after it burned, those big motors stay spotless, considering they have a service life of 50+ years7/4/2008 2:46:31 PM |

Shit dude...You could just do a 2JZ with a single turbo conversion and make more power than that.
