I'm debating between Fedora and Ubuntu based on suggestions of friends, but I also turn to you, t-dub.

I've been a Windows/Mac whore, so I want something I can ease into, if possible. I'd also like something free.

For one you're in the wrong section.

For two, it's easily Ubuntu, followed by Fedora.

Shit. I'm on a laptop. Ubuntu worked twice and now [FAIL].

Getting Fedora since it's a derivative of Red Hat which I saw is on Centennial Campus.

^^ I didn't know Linux was divided into such harsh factions. I'll bet they're as hardcore as the gangs from "West Side Story".

Pretty much:

"driver support ftl"
.

ATI video card support sucks (ATI's fault). Wireless card support is hit or miss.

I use fedora at work and it seems fine, I can't imagine you being able to tell the difference day to day except for the package manager.

[Edited on July 6, 2008 at 11:12 AM. Reason : package manager / package types, whatever]
