Dogs lose their legs all the time. Should we go through and kill off every two or legged dog? A domesticated house cat has little use for whisker, beyond turning corners.. Furthermore, the external nose isn't the important part to olfactory senses.

God you are an idiot. The cats quality of life will not suffer because it no longer has its whiskers. It is an indoor cat, it doesn't have to worry about competing in nature.

i have three cats and i love them so much i ultimately decided to keep them, even tho they occasionally piss on my $3,000 couch. also, if the owners loved their cat they would put it down, not post pics on the internet.

there's a a few more species besides humans that are 'self aware' as you put it, but that's not the point. looking at the pics i assume there is a bunch of work required in keeping that cavity in it's face clear of debris and free of infection - that seems like more misery for the animal than is worth putting it through - same with horses, they euthanize a race horse that breaks a leg because it's cruel to let them live through the recovery time/physical therapy etc. sometimes love is tough. if it were my cat it would never have lived to be that large, because i love animals enough to do what's right by the animal. for a cat to live without whiskers/face/nose is cruel.

Humans are the only known species that are capable of self awareness. Also, there isn't a cavity. The cats face is covered with skin. There isn't bare bone just chilling there.
