we usually share a pretty similar taste in that kind of stuff. I'm a sucker for progressive, atmospheric, heavy stuff though.

yea i knew mine would be too "uppity" (haha) for you but that is all that came to mind before i got bored

Amon Tobin (Hey Blondie)
Kankick
Architect (Suicide Lake, St Vodka, Speed O.J.)
Dryft (Dibt2e)
Tabla Beat Science

Eligh and Kankick are more on the hip-hop end of things; Amon Tobin, Architect and Dryft are more on the electronica side of things but still use some breakbeats; the others are more in between.

I haven't kept up with this kind of stuff, and to be honest I haven't even heard of Sixtoo or Villain Accelerate (will have to check it out), but those all came to mind when you said obscure-ish groups of "downtempo, ambient hip hop style electronica shizzle." Maybe you'll like some of them.
