The wife of a friend of mine in Raleigh clipped their garage with her Toyota Highlander and dented the front right bumper. I would imagine the only way to "fix" it is to replace the bumper, but any ideas how involved it would be to just bang out the ding, reattach the bumper, and then buff it? Where would you suggest having it done? Thanks!

good luck trying to just "bang" out the ding.
heck, if you wanna be cheap, take the bumper off and use some heat to massage it out.
bumper covers arent expensive these days. certifit.com is pretty cheap.
if you want it done right, take it to a shop, you're gonna have to get it replaces, no shop in going to bang it out, if they do, take it somewhere else.
westgateimports.net or other body shops around that area. search the garage, tons of people have posted up decent places. its all about shopping for the best price. 7/9/2008 7:52:44 PM |

that bumper cover is beyond a full repair, but you can get it looking a little more tolerable by stuffing an air mattress in there and pumping it up till the dent pops out. make a video too, it will be a great help to others who clip the garage. 7/9/2008 10:04:44 PM |

that bumper would be 80 bucks max at certifit. then take it to a painter and call it a day. might get out the door for under 200. if you know how to take a bumper off that is. 7/9/2008 10:39:26 PM |
