what would it be?

I think for me it would have to be Bedrich Smetana's Die Moldau, the second poem of Má vlast. It's one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever heard, especially when played by the Wiener Philharmoniker and conducted by Herbert von Karajan.

haha I said Wiener

Tough call, possibly Between the Buried and Me's song White Walls because it is epic and feels like a life culminating song.

Its the song that never ends.....

Probably November Rain by GnR, or Estranged, or Rocket Queen.

personal jesus- depeche mode or johnny cash version, marilyn manson can suck it

now.... everyone has interpreted this thread as "you listen to the last song and you die right afterwards"... . but would it be different if you heard this last song and continued to live on? the last song i hear in the morning sticks in my head all day, and i had a similar experience when i went to a music free area for a couple weeks. i don't want to think about what would happen if i listened to one song and didn't hear another for 40 years!!

Just thought of this one.

Free Bird - Lynard Skynard

We played this at my brother's funeral. He liked to play this song in his band and so we thought it was fitting. http://www.files.finalmofo.com/freebird.mp3 Not that he would have wanted a damn funeral to start with.

Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85

(hopefully you're letting me count the entire thing and not just one movement)

If I did have a chance to listen to one last song, it would be Unforgiven II by Metallica.

for you, i'll make an exception

yea i originally thought about what it would be if i died shortly after listening to the song, but i also left it open ended after I thought that you could listen to your last song today, and live another 40 or 50 years. Personally, the last situation would be worst because I can't imagine living without music.
