I don't know how it happened, but I came home Saturday night from a movie and it's face was swollen and her eye swollen shut.

I washed her off, then Monday I went to the vet to get it checked out. Something went through the eyelid and into the eyeball. They are probably going to have to take the eye out Wednesday.

That's terrible! One of my dogs put out another one of my dogs eyes one time. They were eating my oatmeal, and when Yogi barked or chewed or something (I was 4 at the time), his bottom canine got Sippi in the eye. I remember her eyeball falling out, and when I came home from school, it was all fixed and working normal.

Best wishes to your doggie! I hope everything turns out ok.

I also have to lift the swollen eyelid up and put an antibiotic gel on the eyeball 2-3 times a day

I also have to learn to not look at the right side of her face to determine how she's feeling. That side always looks droopy and sad now, but the left side looks like normal.

Poor thing, it looks terrible. Is she going tomorrow, or next wednesday?

Eyeballs creep me out, especially knowing that they pop like a fluid filled sac. I saw a deer eye pop one time, and I almost fainted. Ever since then... eye injuries make me weak in the knees.

Just a heads up, don't post the pic of your dog in the monorail cat or dog thread.

Hope your dog gets better soon.

She probably shot it in the face and was like "Ewww, it's eyeball popped out."

^^ I took a deer head to get mounted and the guy said I could stay and watch him cape it out. And all you use when caping it out is a razor blade. When he got around the eye, the corner of the razor blade popped it. When it happened, I had a flush of hot then cold go through my body; my knes started shaking, and I think I started sweating a little. It was so gross.

^ I don't take head shots... I thought we had this discussion.

haha this reminds me of a dude I know at the gym. Cool guy, but he's got a fucked up eye. I've caught myself staring at it a few times, in conversations.

I did the same to a boss w/ a lazy eye at a summer internship.
